Performance Management

Evaluating Performance "SMARTly"

This workshop helps public service managers to master the competencies involved in evaluating employee performance.

Building on the requirements of the Directive on Performance Management and the tools provided by the Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer (OCHRO), this session will walk you from the "what" of performance evaluation (knowledge of rules and ratings scales) to the "how" (applying tools, best practices and strategies from the beginning to the end of the evaluation cycle).

During this workshop, managers will

  • learn how to evaluate performance using the OCHRO rating scales;
  • practice delivering performance evaluations;
  • practice providing feedback; and
  • plan for future learning on this topic.

Join us to hone the skills you need as a manager to complete year-end assessments.

Event information

Designed for managers across the federal public service, these sessions are offered at no cost to the learner.
