2018 Summer Students Program: Best Practices for Hiring Managers

Offering meaningful employment experience to students allows organizations to harness their energy, innovation and education in tackling the issues facing Canadians. These opportunities give students, in turn, the skills and experience they need to succeed and be part of public service renewal.
Held in collaboration with the National Managers' Community, this session provided hiring managers with tools and best practices for hiring, welcoming and on-boarding students. Discussions focused on how best to provide a rewarding work experience where students can work on and contribute to the objectives of the organization.
This year's event featured deputy ministers, managers and students as speakers, making it more relevant than ever.

Note that all public servants were eligible to register for this event, but the event was aimed primarily at executives and hiring managers.
