Description
The ability to create, protect, and promote intellectual property (IP) is at the core of the new economy. It informs Canada's Intellectual Property Strategy, which seeks to help entrepreneurs and innovators understand, protect and access IP.
There is great revenue potential for Canadian-made innovations, but issues related to IP leakage, access to collaborative innovation spaces, and barriers to participation in emerging sectors must first be addressed in order to keep pace with the world's IP leaders.
Join us for the third event in the New Economy Series to explore the opportunities intellectual property presents for Canada, as well as the challenges of balancing property protection with openness and information sharing. Learn about key characteristics of intellectual property in Canada and engage with leading thinkers on how the public service can support and prepare Canadian IP owners for the new economy.
