The National Joint Council: 75 Years and Counting!

Description

Join us to learn more about the National Joint Council as it celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. The NJC is the forum of choice for information sharing, consultation and co-development between the federal government as employer and the federal public service bargaining agents. The NJC complements collective bargaining and, through a collaborative framework, agreements on numerous terms and conditions of employment and health benefits are concluded, covering well over 230,000 employees in the Federal Public Service of Canada. Some of its achievements include the Public Service Health Care Plan, the Bilingualism Bonus, the Relocation Directive, the Travel Directive, commuting assistance allowance, and a series of occupational health and safety directives.

To mark this important milestone, the School is holding a discussion with employer representatives and bargaining agents from the NJC. The discussion will focus on the evolution of the NJC, its contribution to the public service and its key achievements, current challenges and emerging issues. Register today to hear all about this successful collaboration.
