The Atlantic Region Official Languages Week

The Atlantic Region Official Languages Week

In partnership with the Canada School of Public Service, the Atlantic Federal Council has organized the Atlantic Region Official Languages Week. This celebratory week aims to raise awareness among federal public service employees on both official languages—a value at the heart of the federal public service.

The theme for 2017 is "Hello / Bonjour 150". In addition to highlighting Canada 150 celebrations, this theme also pays tribute to the 150th anniversary of section 133 of the Constitution Act, which established English and French as the official languages of the Parliament of Canada.

As such, this week is a timely way to celebrate our two official languages and encourage federal public servants to participate in various activities related to this theme. Each year, you have the opportunity to create connections in the Atlantic region based on this important Canadian value.

All activities are virtual. You can participate remotely from your work station or with a group in a meeting room. You are also encouraged to discuss the week and its activities through the GCconnex page.

For more details on how to participate, view the programming schedule below.
