2020 Students Program: Best Practices for Hiring Managers
Students are the public sector’s next generation. Providing students with a meaningful work experience supports organizational succession planning. The key is to harness their energy, innovative ideas and education to tackle the issues facing Canadians now and into the future. The students, in turn, gain the skills and experience they need to be part of public service renewal.
Offered in collaboration with the National Managers' Community, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, the Public Service Commission, the Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer and FlexGC, this information session focuses on:
- the programs available to hire students
- special hiring measures currently in place
- best practices for virtual onboarding
By onboarding students who are working remotely and ensuring that their work experiences are meaningful, we are preparing for the future of the public service.
