The COVID-19 pandemic continues to have a significant impact on Canada's economy, closing businesses, disrupting supply chains, and resulting in massive job losses. The actions taken to counter the effects of the pandemic are leading to higher indebtedness, and the pandemic has taken a heavy toll on many of society's most vulnerable and exacerbated existing areas of social inequality.
The first event in the series features two accomplished Canadians, Hassan Yussuff, President of the Canadian Labour Congress, and Goldy Hyder, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Business Council of Canada. Together, they will discuss the current state of inequality in Canada, the lasting impacts that the pandemic could have on our economy and society, the anticipated record of national and government debt this year, and various other relevant issues that public servants are currently facing.
