As a manager, do you have the tools you need to effectively accommodate the workplace requirements of your employees with disabilities and to reduce or eliminate barriers so they can reach their full potential?
A supportive and knowledgeable manager can make or break an employee's experience with accommodation. The 2019 Benchmarking Study of Workplace Accommodations reflects information from over 6,200 surveys completed by employees and managers about the workplace accommodation process. The study also identified key challenges and opportunities to improve accommodation practices and remove systemic barriers.
This first event in the series will present major findings from the study, including key feedback received from managers, and will set the stage for the next two sessions. This event will help you understand common pain points in the current accommodation process and opportunities for managers to help create a more inclusive and barrier-free work environment. Participants will also have the opportunity to find out more about the work that the Office of Public Service Accessibility is doing with the Canada School of Public Service's strategic partners to improve the federal workplace accommodation process.
