[00:00:06] Hi, my name is Janique Godin. When planning your journey to the cloud, there are many elements that need to be considered. I'd like to share with you some of those which I would consider top of mind.
[00:00:19] First, understand why you're moving to the cloud. Being able to clearly articulate the business benefits and value the cloud platforms and technologies can enable and do for your business moving forward is key.
[00:00:43] Second, get the buy-in at all levels, not just from the top of the organization. "Going cloud" is everybody's business and we all have a part to play.
Maybe some see it as an IT-led initiative, but it's not. Without that buy-in and that firm commitment across the organization, it will sometimes feel like swimming against the current.
[00:00:56] Third, moving to the cloud has lots of benefits and opens lots of opportunities, which also means change. We have to be ready to review, revamp and, in many cases, change the way we create business strategies, business processes, programs, delivery, all the way to how we do investment in resource planning and allocation.
[00:01:17] Lastly, communication. There's never enough communication. How well someone understands the "why" of going to the cloud will influence and can even dictate how successful you will be on your journey. I hope you find these top-of-mind elements useful. Thank you and have a great day.
