This session will focus on the important linkage between values and ethics and the Call to Action. It will share successes, results and measurable progress, discuss gaps that remain, and chart an enduring, actionable path forward.
1:45 pm Message from Caroline Xavier, Chief, Communications Security Establishment Canada and Deputy Minister Champion for Racialized Employees on how our values and ethics underpin our efforts to advance the Call to Action on Anti-Racism, Equity, and Inclusion.
1:50 pm Message from Gaveen Cadotte, Assistant Secretary to the Cabinet, Public Service Renewal Secretariat, Privy Council Office and Co-Chair of the Call to Action ADM Task Team that sets the stage for the session, including speaking to successes, the importance of collective leadership in advancing the Call to Action, and reinforcing connections with public service values.
2:00 pm A keynote address by Daniel Quan-Watson, Retired Deputy Minister, Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs that speaks to the critical relationship between effectively serving Canada and Canadians, and ensuring that Canada’s public service draws on and makes full use of the strengths and contributions of all of Canada’s population.

A panel of senior leaders will discuss what it means to tackle systemic barriers and challenges, best practices for lasting systemic change, and accountability mechanisms to advance the objectives of the Call to Action, followed by a question and answer period. A panel of representatives from different public services and AI institutes showcasing their experiences and best practices in AI, followed by a question and answer period. Moderated by Mark Schaan, Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet (Artificial Intelligence).
